Slow cooker split pea soup!

pea soup

Soups on!!! And so is the BodyInstinct Cleanse!! Getting geared up for the BodyInstinct Cleanse which I always do the first 2 weeks in January to clean out the residue of any sugar, alcohol, white flour or any other crap I may have consumed over the holidays. Just 2 weeks for super clear skin, less body fat, less cellulite and a renewed energy level! Nothing beats it! This morning I decided to set myself up for success by making some of the best pea soup ever!!! I’m not bragging about my culinary skills, in fact the recipe was right on the bag of dried peas. Here it is:

In a slow cooker, layer the following in this order:

1 16oz package of dried split green peas washed
2 cups of diced cooked leftover holiday ham or turkey
1/2 cup diced onion
2 cups baby carrots
2 full celery stalks with leaves
2 cloves fresh garlic minced
1 bay leaf
13-15 whole sprigs of fresh parsley
salt to taste
then gently pour 1 1/2 quarts of water over everything
put on the lid and set it to warm and walk away for 8-10 hours. Then open the pot, remove the parsley, bay leaf and celery and stir. You have a huge pot of yummy soup that can be enjoyed for days and make doing the BodyInstinct cleanse super easy and super yummy! It took me less than 15 minutes to prepare this morning and it was such a good dinner and my house smells amazing!!! More tips to come this week on eating clean on the cleanse.
